WYSIWYG Blood Angels List

I'm buying a Baal Predator and Dreadnought from a friend this month, so I'll almost have enough Blood Angels to use a 2,000pt non-proxied army. I still have to borrow a Tactical Squad and proxy a normal bike for an assault bike, but I'm very nearly there. I imagine I'll have enough models in late October.

2,000pt Blood Angels

HQ

Chaplain Grimmauld (Crozius, Rosarius, Grenades, Jump Pack)

Elites

Death Company* (10 Men, Jump Packs)

Dreadnought (Assault Cannon, Power Fist, Storm Bolter, Extra Armour)

Sniper Scouts (5 Men, 4 Rifles, 1 Missile Launcher)

Terminators (5 Men, Assault Cannon, 2 Chainfists)

Troops

Tactical Squad (10 Men, Power Sword, Missile Launcher, Flamer)

Tactical Squad (10 Men, Power Fist, Missile Launcher, Plasma Rifle)

Fast Attack

Attack Bike (Multi Melta)

Heavy Support

Devastator Squad (10 Men, 2 Plasma Cannons, 2 Lascannons)

Devastator Squad (10 Men, 2 Heavy Bolters, 2 Missile Launchers)

Baal Predator (Assault Cannons)

*Does not take up a slot, hence the 4 Elite units.

More tanks, etc?

I preferred your list of infantry tbh, its harder for me to take out and I think it is harder for the opponent. Plus, with your army combination and the opponents you play, you don't really need them.....

Sadly, I have to include the tanks - I can't use Greg's Templars as proxies when I'm playing alongside/against them. I prefer all infantry lists myself.

yeah I can see. They work extremely well for space marines, they can handle the firepower thrown at them, other armies I would recommend tanks, but perhaps not these guys. Especially with the close combat power of Blood Angels.

...which I'm not using at all. That's probably the biggest problem with my Blood Angels army at the moment, the only Close Combat specialists I take are the Death Company. Admittedly even Devastators can walk through lesser units in close combat with ease, but against other Space Marines I really should be focusing on my strengths - especially against Black Templars.

Mind you, with a 10 man death company and if you get the dreadnought into closecombat, you've got two close combat monsters.

I'd hardly call a Dread a CC Monster, they're just one model and need backup. DC are monsters though!

Death Company and Dreadnought together? I recommend though, if you are against me or Brad, keeping that thing in close combat. Its not going to be hurt by me and unlikely to be hurt by Brad (although it is possible with the scorps).

It's only 100-odd points, and can cause more damage from shooting than in can in combat. There is a high chance of it going ka-boom though, so I probably will put it in combat first opportunity I get.

Hey there, not sure if you are still playing this army, the last post was a while ago, but I'm a BA player too. I use all jump packs though. Check it out!
