Alex Arrives!

Hello there, I'm Alex and I collect Necrons. However unlike most people I do not paint them in a metal looking style. I chose to paint my undead mechanical army in a sort of ceramic way. Much like a storm trooper but with a hint of blue. I believe I am nearing about 2,000 points with them and I am currently working on painting a monolith.

I have added the picture to your post for you - also, I've given you a unique font, like everyone else here.

:D

Quite a decent photo that, makes a change for us lot really.

I've finally mastered the art of macro photos. Well, maybe mastered is too strong a word, hehehe.

It's the small size of the photo on the blog that makes it look so much better than normal, to be honest. The Blood Angels group shot on my second post is very similar.

After that battle we have, I might take some pictures of our models on my floor. A wooden floor with some lighting and a decent camera with a macro should work. I'm going to try it out now.

Don't you think a portable lighting studio, designed for taking pictures of small detailed objects is slightly better than on someones floor?

Main problem with my pictures is my 1 Mega pixel camera from the stone age. I've got the lighting and studio sorted.

A studio doesn't make that much of a difference, the photographs I took will probably look just as good as the ones we'll take in the studio. In fact I quite like using the laminated floor I've got because it displays the models quite well. Background colour is important too and a light brown contrasts very nicely with the white and black uniform of my Tau, in fact I bet it'll do well over all.

Considering your camera tho Gav, lets use mine whilst taking the photos. If you can find a raised surface too, I'll be able to use my tripod to my advantage too.
